Pricing and Ordering the Correct Cables
The following section outlines the general workflow for establishing the correct cables for a RIOS System.
During the quoting process, SyTech requests that the potential customer provide a device inventory of all entry points that will connect to RIOS. For best pricing, this list should include make, model and quantity of the device; for example, Motorola XTL5000s (4), Harris M7100 (2), Kenwood TK980 (2) and Motorola XTS5000 Portables (4) with standard extention cables (2).
At this point, SyTech will provide the available types of radio interface options (standard interface, remote radio control interface, tone control interface). After agreeing upon the interface method, SyTech will want to know one more thing: How far will RIOS be located from the physical radios? The closer, the better. SyTech recommends cables that are 10 ft. or shorter. If there is no way around it, longer cable runs may require line boosters and added costs.
