Where precise location information is considered sensitive personal information under applicable law, SyTech will process it in accordance with applicable consent, security, disclosure, and privacy-rights requirements.

Customer-Operated Systems

Many SyTech products and services are purchased, configured, and operated by government agencies, businesses, public-safety organizations, and other customers. In these circumstances, the customer generally determines:

  • What information is collected;

  • Why the information is collected;

  • Whose information is processed;

When SyTech processes location or other personal information solely on behalf of a customer, SyTech acts as a service provider or data processor and follows the customer’s authorized instructions and applicable contractual requirements.

Questions or privacy requests relating to information collected through a customer-operated system should generally be directed to the government agency, business, or organization that operates the system. Certain portions of the SyTech website may contain proprietary, sensitive, controlled, or otherwise restricted information. SyTech may take reasonable steps to verify a person’s identity, organization, business purpose, citizenship, location, or authorization before granting access to restricted content.

Users must provide accurate information. SyTech may deny or revoke access when:

  • Information cannot be verified;

  • Access is no longer appropriate;

  • A request presents a security, legal, or regulatory concern; or

  • SyTech believes the website or its content is being misused.

Suspected fraud, unlawful access, or intentional misrepresentation may be reported to the appropriate authorities.

5. How We Disclose Personal Information

SyTech does not sell personal information or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

We may disclose personal information in the following circumstances:

  • Service providers: We may provide information to companies that perform website hosting, information technology, cybersecurity, communications, analytics, payment processing, shipping, customer support, or other services on SyTech’s behalf.

  • Customers: When SyTech processes information on behalf of a government agency, business, or other customer, information may be made available to that customer and its authorized users.

  • Business partners: We may disclose information when necessary to respond to a request, provide a product or service, support a customer, or fulfill a contractual obligation.

  • Professional advisers: We may disclose information to attorneys, accountants, auditors, insurers, and other professional advisers when reasonably necessary.

  • Legal, regulatory, and security purposes: We may disclose information when required by law, regulation, subpoena, court order, government request, or legal process, or when reasonably necessary to protect SyTech, its customers, its personnel, or others.

  • At your direction: We may disclose information when you request or authorize us to do so.

Service providers are permitted to use personal information only as necessary to provide services to SyTech or as otherwise permitted by their agreements and applicable law.

6. Payment Information

When online payment functionality is available, payment information may be processed by a third-party payment processor. The processor may collect payment-card and billing information under its own privacy and security practices.

SyTech may receive transaction details necessary to process an order, provide requested products or services, and maintain appropriate business records.

You should not submit payment-card information, financial account credentials, or other sensitive financial information through an ordinary email or website inquiry unless SyTech specifically directs you to an approved payment method.

7. Cookies and Similar Technologies

Cookies are small data files stored on a browser or device. SyTech may use cookies and similar technologies to:

  • Enable essential website functions;

  • Remember user preferences;

  • Maintain website security;

  • Understand how visitors use the website;

  • Diagnose errors; and

  • Improve website performance and content.

You can ordinarily configure your browser to block or delete cookies or to notify you when cookies are placed. Blocking certain cookies may affect the availability or operation of some website features.

Where required by applicable law, SyTech will request consent before using nonessential cookies. If the website provides a cookie-preference tool, you may use it to change your selections.

Some browsers and devices offer privacy signals such as Global Privacy Control or “Do Not Track.” SyTech will process legally recognized browser-based opt-out signals when required by applicable law. Because there is not a uniform standard governing every browser signal, other signals may not produce a response from the website.

8. Data Retention

SyTech retains personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy.

Retention periods may depend on:

  • The nature and sensitivity of the information;

  • The purpose for which it was collected;

  • The duration of a customer or business relationship;

  • Contractual requirements;

  • Product-support and security requirements;

  • Applicable statutes of limitation; and

  • Legal, regulatory, accounting, export-control, and government recordkeeping requirements.

Location information processed through a SyTech product or customer-operated system may be retained according to the customer’s configuration, instructions, policies, and contractual requirements.

When information is no longer reasonably required, SyTech may delete, anonymize, aggregate, or securely dispose of it.

9. Data Security

SyTech maintains reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards intended to protect personal information against unauthorized access, acquisition, alteration, disclosure, loss, destruction, or misuse.

These measures may include access controls, authentication procedures, network and system protections, security monitoring, personnel practices, and procedures appropriate to the nature of the information and the applicable system.

No website, network, transmission, or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure. You should use care when transmitting sensitive information electronically and notify SyTech if you believe your interaction with us is no longer secure.

If the request concerns information controlled by one of SyTech’s government, business, or organizational customers, we may direct you to that customer or forward the request as permitted by our contractual obligations and applicable law.

Additional notices, disclosures, or authorizations may apply during the hiring process.

13. Children’s Privacy

The SyTech website and SyTech’s commercial and government products are not directed to children under 13. SyTech does not knowingly collect personal information online directly from children under 13 through its public website.

If you believe a child has submitted personal information through our website, please contact us so that we may review and, when appropriate, delete the information.

This section does not limit lawful processing performed by an authorized government agency or other customer through a customer-operated system. In those circumstances, the customer is responsible for determining the legal authority and purpose for processing the information.
